Is the lowest entry point really $5/mo?
Yes, Indie ($5/mo, 50,000 credits) — for solo developers and bots that outgrew Free. Even cheaper — Free ($0, 10,000 credits) at launch, no card required.
What is the spend cap?
On Starter+ you can set a monthly spend limit in dashboard. Once reached, further requests return 429 SPEND_CAP_REACHED until you confirm. Protection against runaway loops or key compromise.
How do I safely give an API key to an AI agent?
Create a separate key with limited quota — built-in on Starter+. If the agent loops — you lose at most $0.40, not the whole monthly budget.
Can I buy credits without a subscription?
Not yet — subscription gives a predictable monthly budget and better rate-limit. Pay-as-you-go arrives in Phase 7.
What happens when credits run out?
On paid tiers overage kicks in: $5/10K on Indie and Starter, $3/10K on Pro, $2/10K on Business. Requests keep working, an extra invoice arrives at month-end. On Free — requests are blocked until next month.
Are identical requests cached?
Yes. The same input (date, coordinates, parameters) within 5 minutes is returned from cache without spending credits. Confirmed by the X-Cache: HIT header.
How much do the SDKs cost?
Official TypeScript and Python SDKs are free, open-source, published to npm and PyPI. Generated from OpenAPI spec, so always in sync with the backend.
